"chapter 1." vs "1. chapter" (docbook)

Hi!

Could anyone tell me where it is defined that openjade renders chapter
titles as "chapter 1. TITLE" and not "1. chapter TITLE"? I am using
dsssl 1.77

OpenJade does not specify that. It is done by DSSSL stylesheets,
e.g., the DocBook DSSSL stylesheets, that you seem to be using. The
function `$component-title$' in the files `{html,print}/dbcompn.dsl'
in the DocBook DSSSL distribution specifies the rendition of chapter
titles.
